Auriel's Gate

Auriel's Gate

Auriel’s Gate, the village where red roses bloom year-round, even under frost, and home of the Rose Knights. A D&D 5e location from Irydale.

Description and notable features

In the village of Auriel’s Gate, red roses bloom year-round, even under frost. On a crag above the village stands the chapterhouse of the Rose Knights, half fortress, half reliquary.

At the edge of the village, the painter Vesna’s atelier sits half-swallowed by thornrose. To the east the forest thickens into hawthorn and fog, hiding a witch’s glade and, further on, the Shrine of Saint Lyssa.

Relevant events

The village held the funeral of Dame Calienne, champion of the Rose Knights, where her blazing rose was found missing. Months later, at the Harvest Festival, the Rose Knights will hold a tourney to elect a new champion.
